1. Jerry Douglas is arguably the most underrated musician in the "Western" world. (....in part because of the "degree of difficulty" of his chosen instrument, but still. He's a monster player who doesn't get anywhere near the accolades he deserves, and he gets a lot of accolades...) (Edgar Meyer is another. Something about country music....)

I always liken #hindustaniClassicalMusic #improvisation to a game of rhythmic Tetris. The ability of the great masters to combine different rhythmic patterns over long sets of beat cycles and always come out perfectly on the one (sam) never fails to astonish me.

Have this #AllmanBrothers tribute gig coming up in #Raleigh at the Lincoln on Saturday so I sat down with my #dobro last night to make sure the internal Fishman still worked. Of course, it didn’t.
