The pattern for this beauty is called "Dandelion Lane" and the yarn I used reminded me of a Dandelion growing out of a street. Amazing little resilient plants! Also - the shawl has Glitter. Most things are better with Glitter.

This is a more recent project, finished last December; therefore the slightly crappy lighting. It's super flowy and delicate, made with lace-weight yarn. And it has glitter! Swipe to the close-up to actually see some of the sparkles.

Oh, I almost forgot about this beauty! I used 2 Yarncakes and alternated them; I ended up using about 1824 m yarn. It's a pattern by a polish designer, essentially it's just charts and I was so proud that I managed to make it. Being able to read crochet charts opens up a whole new world beyond language barriers. I love it.

This pattern is a pure variation of SC stitches. I can't work too long on it because quite honestly, SC stitches bore me, that's why I am normally drawn to the complex lacy patterns. Nevertheless... the braiding for this one is very cleverly constructed. I'm using my Cthulu Advent 2024 Krakenyarns handdyed yarn and it's really wonderful. :heart:

Here's another pattern I made several times from when I was a beginner to more advanced. It was also the first pattern I actually bought. In the beginning it was important to me that the patterns I used were free, as I really needed to learn and get a feeling for them. Nowadays I'm happy to pay for a well written pattern or chart. (in fact, I prefer charts now) In any case, this one being the first pattern I bought holds a special place in my heart and I should really make it again. :-)

Lets visit some more projects made from hand dyed yarn. For me, it's always so much harder to find a suitable project in crochet for those beautiful Indie Yarns. They are usually also not as flamboyant as my preferred gradient-projects. But that's ok, I need the variety. This is the Meraki Shawl. The Designer added this description:

I think this was one of the first half circle shawls I attempted. And the one I kept for myself and which gets a lot of wear. (especially since I learned a couple of wrapping techniques). It's very soft and drapeable.

I like to re-visit patterns, to make them again in different colors, yarns and with different skill-levels.
The first one was the bottom left one, when I was just an adventurous beginner - and I struggled! Bottom right was the second one, about half a year later when I was a bit more experienced, already going better. And the top one in blue was another half year later when I considered myself advanced.

If you learn to read crochet charts, it's like being able to speak a foreign language. No matter if the designer lives in Poland, Japan or Australia, you'll be able to follow their instructions and create something beautiful. A chart unites crocheters from all over the world. And that's rather poetic and beautiful.
The shawl in the picture I brought with me to my first X-Mas market in 2023 and I had two ladies almost fighting over it about who gets to buy it. :D Understandably so, because it is very special with all the structure and bobble stitches.
