For several years I’ve experimented with different materials - dyeing, printing, rusting, stitching - just to see what’s possible. As I learn new things I combine them to get more depth and texture. The grayish fabric on the bottom was dyed with acorns and then modified with iron to deepen the color. The fabric on top was folded then rusted.

Third #embroidery project, done!
As the name states, I took a few when I did this pattern. Used different stitches, experimented here and there, went against what the pattern stated how many threads I should use, and even skipped a few embroidery details that felt unnecessary.
I took my time with this because it seemed like I could finish this embroidery in a week, intentionally delaying it at some point.

I am out stem-stitched with this one. So many stem stitches. I guess it's safe to say I know how to do the stitch now. 
Of course, it's still laden with errors but hey, they're all mine.
I tried to be mindful of the amount of thread I used and took some shortcuts which may not have been optimal. However, overall, I think it turned out pretty good."

I have 3 patterns awaiting to be embroidered and I'm going to draw from a hat tomorrow what to do next. Here's to getting better at it!

Some intuitive stitching with watercolor I made a while back. It's one of my favorites, maybe because the process of making it was so relaxing. It's freeing not having a specific idea of what the final result should be and just enjoy the process.
