I am in #Bordeaux and I am blown away. Other than in the Netherlands and Copenhagen, I have not seen so many #bikes in a city. I counted on average 10 cyclists a minute for a while when sitting on a bench along the Garonne. All racks are full, there appear to be at least 3 bike share systems. The shared bus/bike lane makes me nervous as do the very fast motorized bikes. Also, virtually no spandex/lycra.

“The price of #bikes and everything associated with them is going to increase. But that’s just the beginning. Because of the tariffs, brands and shops will need to make difficult choices.
Some of those choices may include delaying orders, routing USA-bound goods to other markets, or offering fewer products in the USA. It will also mean that brands and shops will cut staff and make other tough decisions” bicycling.com/bikes-gear/a6452

Living in the Netherlands this is normal for me [all be it exceptional].
I used to commute to work on bike. No drivers license. Owning 3 bikes. One for urban traffic, to the train station. One for leisure. And the last at the trainstation of my workplace.
Would that was possible for every one.
Remember: 'If you build it, they will come' As it goes for bicycles it also goes for cars.

Why build bike lanes — shouldn’t we focus on public transit instead? There’s a criticism we’ve seen that bicycle urbanism is a niche obsession and that urbanists’ attention should instead be on public transit as a more robust, reliable, and realistic alternative to driving."

A maintenance question for #BikeTooter people:

I’m repairing a puncture and it looks like the cause is the rim tape letting the spoke poke into the inner tube. Do I need proper rim tape to repair this with? Or can I use something like electrical tape or some kind of padding? Any suggestions welcome.

I have a new inner tube and don’t want to wreck that but being able to use the bike to get to the bike shop to buy new supplies would be very useful!

Sitting at my fave 24-hour restaurant. A middle-aged man just came in wearing Bermuda-ish shorts -- the print design is a repeating Sponge Bob with pink flamingo birds and green leaves.

I don't understand why some people dress the way they do. I really don't.

Pleased to say that I can't think of anyone I'm related to who'd dress like that. 🙈 #fashion

Oh, and I'm also pleased to say that I pedalled to get here. 🚴‍♀️ Yes! I'm out riding on a weekday! 😃👍 #cycling #1LessCar #bikes

“our #ebike wasn’t just solving a problem—it was enhancing our experience. And yet, there’s a common refrain I keep hearing: #Ebikes are great for people who need them”
"The only downside to #ebikes is having to listen to people say they aren’t real #bikes

Biked to Assembly for a PT appointment for my gacked-up shoulder. I took Bluebikes because I didn’t feel like wrestling my bike out of the basement (we really need a more accessible bike storage situation) and followed this route: youtu.be/FzgYTJkelks. Overall a very good way to get there - I walked my bike at a few spots (the transition from the bike path to Cross Street & the transition from the Stop & Shop parking lot to the highway crosswalk) and definitely had to dismount and lift my bike over the curb at Blakeley, but these are tiny inconveniences relative to avoiding the Corridor of Death.

With a cycling buddy, I drove 900km to the small town of Glen Innes for a gravel ride in the Northern Tablelands in a region of northern New South Wales called New England.

I've never been here before and, to be honest, it's a lot like the Southern Highlands which is much closer. It's also very British with lots of Scottish and Welsh references.

The ride was organised by Goodness Gravel and was a much smaller and more personal ride than the Classic series.

We completed the 75km ride in good time and good spirits, despite some strong and relentless headwinds.

We've got a few more days here and are planning some riding/exploring tomorrow.
