Calling all Photographers. I need a new backpack. My PD 30L is fine, but I want to be able to stow a mounted Lens/body combo that is about 19" in length. I have been looking at the F-Stop Tilopa or the MindShift Gear FirstLight 40L anybody have recommendations? #camera #gear #backpack #photgraphy

There seems to be consensus amongst first responders, that a SAM Splint is a super useful tool in the backpack to splint broken bones of any kind.

It is lightweight, super flexible, can be cut with scissors to use it for smaller things like fingers, etc. It easily fits in every backpack.

Today mine arrived to complete my first aid gear. I have chosen the 36" Large edition, which is considered the best size for all-round use (and as mentioned for the smaller things it can be cut as well).

DIY ultralight backpack/daypack... mostly done. Though will probably go through and reinforce every seam. The sewing of the webbing was dicey, broke two needles figuring out how to do that. And they are not very neat. #sewing #moyg #backpack

The shoes are dialed in as I've been out running in them a bit. For the backpack it is good, even when I've yet to dial it in it is nice. Pack plus gear 20kg (2kg+18kg).

Great to see @HenryWCoeSP here on Masto. Always a favorite park of mine, and very unique, with over 200 miles of trails IIRC. The Backcountry Weekend events are especially good. I've hiked there often, mountain biked, and backpacked with friends and family.

NGL, I don't think this is worth $200. (Maybe $120 but it's just a backpack.) Out side of the design, flannel blanket & the water container, there's not much special about it other than it's what Lucy wore in the series.

Anybody have a source for really really small silnylon dry bag (less than 1 liter)?

I'm looking for something like the size of a soda can that's reasonably waterproof, maybe with a zipper, for organizing stuff in a #camping #backpack . Doesn't have to be submersible, just enough to keep rain mostly out of the contents.

Sea to Summit makes a 1 liter bag that's still way too big. I have some smaller pouches that are heavy military-style nylon but I'm looking for lighter material in the same size class. Bonus points if it's got velcro hook material on one side so I can slap it on something, but I'm expecting I'll have to sew that myself.
