This #VGMWednesday happens to share the release anniversary with #BalanWonderworld !
So, I present to you my favorite song on the album. The Hydrac. A fire and lava-spewing mix of a dragon and fire hydrant (yes, you read that right) giving shape to the fears of a firefighter walking the tightrope between saving lives and self-preservation.
The song itself feels like a mixture of Cirque du Soleil, fiery hammered dulcimer, and BOSS FIGHT.

Well, it should be no mystery that I have been playing #XenobladeChroniclesX recently and that I have a teeny tiny obsession with the OST. Especially... the music in new LA.
I bet you thought I was going to say Uncontrollable. Which is true. I love that track.
But I have spent a lot of time quietly jamming out to the music in new LA. Especially the day theme.

Honestly, this is probably hit and miss. But for some reason, I do love this track. In fact, I think the entire game's soundtrack is an absolute treat!
I mean, I will be honest when I first heard it again after all these years I was hit by a warm nostalgia. And everything so far has just been a delight.

It's #VGMWednesday once again, so it's time for another #soundtrack from #HomeworldDesertsOfKharak, this time "Assault on the Gaalsi Base".
I love all of the Gaalsien themes in general - they just have so much character - and this awesome mix of winds, synthesizers, and drums really keeps you on your toes while you sneak up on the enemy's stronghold.

This is surprisingly nostalgic to me, since it was played in all manner of flash games and animations in the olden days, probably cause it was one of the first popular midi remixes on VG Music.

For my first #VGMWednesday post on this account, I would like to start with something well-known among the gaming community. This is the theme for Green Hill Zone, the opening stage for the original Sonic the Hedgehog. Even though this song has been reused and remixed to hell and back, for many, this was their first experience with the blue hedgehog. Even though STH1 wasn't my first Sonic game, listening to it makes me feel nostalgic and a wide range of other emotions.

It's #VGMWednesday again, so I'm offering you another banger #soundtrack from #HomeworldDesertsOfKharak: The Ashoka Attacks.
It's yet another Gaalsien track, and the vocals you hear in the background are actually a prayer to Shani, the Hindu god of justice and retribution (lyrics/translation below 
) - and given that the Gaalsien are religious fanatics who believe that ascending into space will incite the wrath of their god, this is extremely fitting.

It’s not as epic as the typical one, but it works really well for the battle nonetheless, and shows just how much of a threat Reclusa is compared to past villains, and how much more he’s breaking down and getting annoyed with the bros:

So, it's #VGMWednesday already? Jeez, time flies.
Today, we're taking a magical trip on games I played this week this time to Tokyo Disneyland. In fact, we are having a Grand Adventure.
『ミッキーの東京ディズニーランド大冒険』Mickey's Grand Adventure in Tokyo Disneyland is a curious game, but right now, let's focus on my favourite track.

For me, this track just works for this ride. I can't put my finger on it. But for me, it does evoke that vibe of a Steam Train going around the American Southwest. It's a fun, light track that will hopefully help you forget the game can be downright malicious at times.
Other honourable mentions, The Haunted Manor and Cinderella's Castle, are also pretty decent. Though the latter might be just a Stockholm syndrome response...

God this song has just become iconic hasn’t it? Appearing in basically every Zelda game since ALLTP, it’s one of the most popular recurring themes in the series, and for good reason.

If you are expecting me to share something Majora's Mask related. Well. No. And if it was, it would be the Clock Town Theme. All three days.
Anyway! Jerry Boy/Smart Ball for the #SNES has a great soundtrack! Perhaps it is nostalgia, but it has a couple of great tracks, especially Green Plains and Desert. Incidentally Akira Yamaoka, of Silent Hill fame, worked on the music for this game! So that is cool. How much of a hand he has in the soundtrack, can't say because it was a joint effort with Yasuhiko Fukuda and Manabu Saito.
I am dropping a link to the full soundtrack, so everyone can enjoy everything this game has to offer musically. All the tracks are pretty short loops, but they certainly had an impact on me!
I really enjoyed my time with the Blaster Master remake (which has TWO sequels now I need to get those)
My favorite part of the game well with this track encapsulates my time with the game. A sometimes Metroidvania with tank and person outside of tank mechanics and a sometimes top down shooter when your little dude gets into those little holes.
This music is playing when there's just huge tsunamis going to flood your shit. This was honestly a great experience for me. Recommend.

My last entry for my #VGMWednesday creepy month is yet another #FireEmblem #soundtrack, and the theme of one of the most iconic villains of the series: the Black Knight.
Many people may know the Black Knight's battle theme from SSB, but this is the theme for whenever he makes his appearance on screen - which, in most cases, means certain death. Fittingly for such a menacing foe, his theme absolutely grips you to the marrow with fear.

Viele Leute kennen das Battle Theme des Schwarzen Ritters vielleicht aus SSB, aber dieses Theme hier hört man, wann auch immer er auf der Bildfläche erscheint - was in den meisten Fällen den sicheren Tod bedeutet. Passend für einen so bedrohlichen Feind hat er ein Theme, das einem wirklich die Angst in die Knochen fahren lässt.

Both make me wish we had less lava themed Bowser’s Castle areas though! The music and atmosphere is always amazing when they step away from that archetype.
So, this was an... Interesting one.
As I have mentioned, several times, in the last few days. Today's #VGMWednesday track from games I have been playing comes from True Crime Streets of LA. A game filled to a bunch of gangster rap and hip hop with... Lyrics I wouldn't necessarily feel comfortable sharing... it was 2003, it was a simpler time.
But today's choice hit me like a 1967 Cadillac Coupe DeVille Convertible. Unlocking a core memory.
The song 『Rockstar』 by N.E.R.D is on this soundtrack! It actually comes into play during the brawling missions, and it is a great backdrop to the martial arts antics of Nick Kang. Incidentally, if I was playing SSX 3, the remix of this song would be my VGM pick!
I umm'd and ahh'd about placing this behind a CW due to explicit lyrics and still deliberating now...
I'm still working on my fedi etiquette, not going to lie
