A Snapping Turtle (Chelydra serpentina) on its way to somewhere this morning.
The carapace of the turtle was about 40 cm long.

I think this is my first Tortuga Tuesday. Although, this fine pond slider just wanted to slide across the trail from pond A to pond B, but no… “Can you hurry up and take the photo so I can get on with my life?!?”

Biking along the canal I spotted a huge dead fish, at least 1 m long, and the largest snapping turtle I have ever seen with it. The kind that I was expecting to see kidnapping Princess Peach.

It is a lucky day for a little Snapping Turtle who held up traffic in a busy town area (and nobody knew why a car had stopped).
Little thing was so dehydrated that she couldn't even pee at me when I picked her up - turtles always do that.
Anyway, I had a fitting shoe box in the car and she got a ride to the nearest pond. She would have never made it on her own. I have no idea how she even got there, alive.

Did the coffee run, got out of the car and found this wee beauty of a golden box turtle!

I've named him Bob.

I am SO relieved I didn't get him with my car, he's so small and I didn't see him when I was parking.

He's OK - I carefully moved him into the yard the general direction he was going anyway, and now we will have turtle check whenever we come or go.

Haven't seen one in the neighborhood since Moxley was still with us.
