#Translink has launched the ‘Better on Board’ public #transport charter in #Derry ~ #Londonderry, promoting sustainable travel to reduce emissions, ease congestion, and improve air quality. Since the introduction of the zero-emission #Foyle #Metro service in September 2023, over 3 million passenger journeys have been made, saving more than 2,000 tonnes of CO2. The charter, backed by over 20 initial partners, including businesses, organisations, and local stakeholders, encourages greater use of public transport for the region's social, economic, and environmental benefit. Translink aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030 and achieve a zero-emission fleet across Northern #Ireland by 2040.

#Translink has installed a new bus shelter in Coolnagard Estate, Omagh, Northern #Ireland, following a request by #Fermanagh and #Omagh District Council. Identified in 2020, the shelter aims to improve public #transport access for residents. Completed in January 2025, it provides a safe, comfortable waiting area for passengers. Councillor John McClaughry welcomed the shelter, emphasising its importance for residents and visitors. Sean Falls from Translink noted the installation responds to increasing passenger demand and supports a more sustainable transport system. We usually travel to Horseshoe Bay terminal and take transit (often articulated #255) in to downtown Vancouver from there.

The union for employees of #BritishColumbia's #HandyDART #transit service says it's suspending all job action pending a vote on a final contract offer from employer #TransdevCanada.
There had been the possibility of strike action on the door-to-door service on Monday if a deal wasn't struck.
Joe McCann, president of #Local1724 of the #AmalgamatedTransitUnion, says the vote will happen soon after information meetings being held Sunday and Monday for members.
TransLink, Metro #Vancouver's regional transit provider, warned that the service could be disrupted next week as the deadline for contract negotiations was set to expire Sunday evening.
#TransLink said that even if the strike went ahead, service would continue for those needing rides to medical treatments for cancer and other illnesses.
Dang it. Just heard about this. I live a 20 minute walk from existing stations and a 4 minute walk from a future station so I continue to be waiting for this to open.
