"Dem Bois Inc. was founded in 2016 by Shawn Aaron who identifies as trans-masculine.

The financial assistance that Dem Bois Inc. provides will help to elevate the burden of covering the total cost of surgery for individuals who identify as female to male, FTM transgender, and or trans-masculine person(s) of color who cannot afford to obtain chest reconstruction surgery, and or genital reassignment surgery (gender affirming surgery).

When they remove your breast they take the opportunity to have a good look at it, just to see if there was anything going on.
Everything was normal, no surprise there.

They also weighted both my breasts: 142g and 148g* respectively.
And of course I automatically thought "that's like burger patties" (third pounders) which I find extremely funny.🍔

A simple thing that got better for me after my top surgery: I have been able to do dishes a lot more than before, and cook healthier meals thanks to it.

Now that my chest brings me happiness, seeing it (or more like, not seeing it constantly) is no longer an obstacle to leap over every time I try to do everyday things. I can just happily listen to videos while doing dishes and knowing that I am preparing thw kitchen for a new, happy day. (:

First time testing my walking pad/treadmill hybrid machine, and it performed so well! It’s been so long since I’ve been on a treadmill that I forgot how much I loved it. 5.6km flew by thanks to air conditioning, an EDM concert recording on my laptop, a portable fan blowing on me on high, and a water bottle on my standing desk. It was also my first shirtless run ever thanks to top surgery, so this run was a milestone for me even if it was just inside my own apartment. Running finally felt like I’d always imagined, and now I’m in tears. 🥹 :blobhaj_heart_trans: #TransJoy #running #TopSurgery

Hello Mastodon!

I'm here to promote a social discord server specifically for post-transition/late stage transition trans people. How you identify as a trans or nonbinary person does not matter as long as you consider yourself completed or near completion in your transition! This community exists because most online trans communities are overwhelmingly represented by people who are pre/early-transition. The server has a vetting process for safety purposes which just involves showing some proof of your trans status and telling us a little about yourself. Additionally, if you have had or are actively pursuing surgery we can connect you to surgery support communities too.

This link is good for 10 uses, just to test the waters.

Got cleared by my doctor to run for the first time since top surgery a month ago. Running again today felt so good and freeing that I cried. My locomotion was so familiar; my mind hadn’t lost its mental endurance; and my body retained more power than I was expecting. 3km just flew by. All the pain and discomfort was so worth it. My body is mine, and it is amazing. 🥹 #TopSurgery #TransJoy #running

Hi I'm Adrian and I'm a proudly bisexual transgender man from NY. (he/him.) :BhjFlag_Bisexual: :BhjFlag_TransMasc: This is my side account where I talk about being trans and provide support to other trans folks. (My main account is @catdad )

Here's a quick timeline of my transition:
- I came out in 2015, in my late teen years.
- I got a lot of backlash from friends, coworkers, and family after coming out. Luckily, my family has since come around and are now very supportive.
- I went about my medical transition through the "traditional route" of seeing a therapist, getting a gender dysphoria diagnosis, and getting a letter of approval to start hormones.
- I've been on testosterone since 2017. I started out with testosterone gel, then I later switched to Testopel. (Highly recommend.)
- I got top surgery in 2020. I also had medical tattooing done on top of my nipples to enhance the cosmetic appearance about 6 months post-op.
- I've had my legal name and gender changed.
- I generally "pass" as male in my daily life now that I've been on testosterone for years. I'm not necessarily "stealth" but people tend to assume I'm a cis guy unless I say otherwise.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions, always happy to give advice. I will likely make threads going into more depth about some of the things I mentioned above (such as Testopel and medical tattooing).

Some of my personal beliefs:
- I am pro-solidarity and pro-kink.
- I am a binary trans guy and I fully support non-binary people.
- I support trans folks who opt not to physically transition or trans folks who transition in non-traditional/binary ways. (Basically, I'm not transmed.)
- I generally don't like to police the terms people use to refer to their identity. I sometimes call myself "transsexual" because I take pride in the physical aspect of my transition and I like how grounded in queer history the term feels.
- Although I pass now, I used to be very gender ambiguous when I first came out and I got a lot of backlash for it. So I feel strongly about standing up for gender non-conforming folks and "non-passing" trans folks. I hate when binary/"passing" trans folks throw other trans folks under the bus.

I may or may not update this post in the future if anything else comes to mind. Thanks for checking out my profile!
