"Sing" is a 1971 song written by #JoeRaposo for the children's television show Sesame Street as its #signatureSong. In 1973, it gained popularity when performed by #theCarpenters, a number 3 hit on the #Billboard Hot 100. Raposo was a staff songwriter for Sesame Street, and the song became one of the most popular on the program, sung in #English, #Spanish and #signLanguage. In its initial appearance, it was sung by the show's adult human cast members and #theMuppets.

Rather than finding it by accident, I went looking for info on Albanian sign language and found a few things. The language is relatively young.

Unfortunately my long-ago semester in ASL doesn't help me spot how related or not it is to ASL.

My youngest appears to have selective mutism. She often goes silent when she's hungry or emotionally distraught. Does anybody have suggestions as to some good resources for basic signing? I could also use some suggestions as to which signs are the most useful to learn. I'm thinking that if I can learn some, I can teach her as well, and it will really smooth things out when she's unable to speak.
