With the white nationalist christo-fascists coup, you can expect to be turned away from most adoption agencies. They will either be privatized completely, along with CPS, or contracted out to right wing xian providers, who will turn away anyone who won't promise to completely disregard children's rights to be themselves regarding their gender, and their rights to choose their own spiritual path.

And if you're Jewish or Atheist or Muslim or Buddhist or Pagan? Forget it. Not a chance.

National Womens Law Center: We, along with our co-counsel, are representing Doctors for America to intervene in the case Catholic Medical Association v. U.S. Department of Health and Human Services et al. in federal court in Nashville, Tennessee. The Catholic Medical Association (CMA) filed this lawsuit to challenge EMTALA guidance issued in 2022 in the wake of the Supreme Court’s erroneous decision overturning Roe v. Wade. We have intervened to ensure that the right to emergency abortion care under EMTALA is defended. We’re taking action now so emergency abortion care doesn’t get taken away by extremists. CMA is not only asking that its member doctors be able to refuse to provide emergency abortion care—its lawsuit also puts forward an argument that, if accepted, could potentially prohibit all hospitals nationwide from providing certain types of emergency abortion care. In a recent filing, the Trump Department of Justice said that it was looking at the possibility of settling the case, rather than defending EMTALA. We need you with us to fight back. "Rosenthal introduced an amendment that would have required public schools to display the Jewish and Catholic versions of the #TenCommandments, in addition to the Protestant version, which all have slightly different wording. The amendment’s failure to pass, he argued, showed the hypocrisy of the bill’s supporters.

“The fact that they will argue it’s only about values and not about religion, I think it’s a pretty disingenuous talking point,” he said. “The whole thrust of this, I think, is to get a case in front of a newly formed Supreme Court.” The U.S. Supreme Court has had a 6-3 conservative majority since 2020."

The Fellowship of Reconciliation is not known for avoiding controversial issues. Over the years, the issue of abortion has been hotly and painfully debated among our members, affiliates, staff and board.

In 1999, the FOR National Council determined the organization's position as pro-choice, while calling for “mutually respectful dialogue and compassionate listening on this issue."

Under Jewish law (halacha) the termination of a pregnancy is required when the life of the mother is in danger... My Jewish traditions understand it to include the pregnant person's economic and mental health, and dignity. Given that we are commanded over and over again to care for the poor, the systematically oppressed, and the persecuted, and that this is a prophetic duty, to criminalize reproductive freedom is to criminalize care. “Pregnancy itself is a risk factor for homicide...” Carrying an unwanted pregnancy to term is associated with higher rates of domestic violence, poverty, poorer maternal bonding, and such dire health consequences as gestational hypertension, eclampsia, postpartum hemorrhage, and maternal and infant death. Conversely, women who receive a wanted abortion are more financially stable, set more ambitious goals, raise children under more stable conditions, and are more likely to have a wanted child later.

She says the first Congress "authorised the production of the Bible" to explain why there's no #SeparationOfChurchAndState.

And while true, Congress did not pay or require any use of the Bible. Until independence, English Bibles could only be printed in England. So, post-indep, a US publisher sought permission from Congress to print his own. That's it.
