I’m just going to say this: the #SEPTA “Bus Revolution” is a giant pile of shit. They removed two entire bus lines from the rebuilt Levittown station, which has bus slots designed into the station layout. They did not expand on any suburban services in Montgomery or Bucks County leaving them at one vehicle per hour per direction on the two longer routes. This is at a time with poorly planned hasty construction of new housing in these areas. So fucking stupid.

#MooseCop The #SEPTA Emergency Services Unit Van was waiting for them nearby, and they climbed in the back. The driver stuck his head through a small window. "Evening, Diane!" The Detective responded, "Hey Charlie, good to see ya! We're going to the Bus Shop at Sixty-Ninth Street Terminal, off Victory. Code Three." Charlie turned to face the windshield and pulled into traffic, without looking he clicked the lights and siren on. 🧵

Man. SEPTA has terrible bus service in bucks county. Looks like they’re aiming to cut it even more soon with this “bus revolution” program. Montgomery county is a mess too, but at least we have more than 4 routes after this plan is implemented. Looks like they’ll retain the 55, 130, and modified 127 & 129. We retain too many to list, though there’s significant changes. #SEPTA #transit #transportation #sustainability

So the #SEPTA subway, El, norristown high speed, and trolleys are being given letter/color names rather than just numbers under a new “metro” banner. A step in the right direction, but it still feels like Green/T (lol) lines are just “Other Trolleys” after Girard and Delaware service got split off.

#Swarthmore students will ride #Philadelphia #SEPTA trains and buses for free, on passes purchased by the college. SEPTA gets ridership. Swarthmore gets the carbon #emissions cuts. And,
"Research suggests that getting students to use #transit can have enduring effects."

Many colleges have, or are considering, similar transit mobility programs for their students. #MIT staff use their MIT ID to ride Boston's #MBTA network for free.

Bloomberg · The Power of Free Transit Passes for College StudentsBy David Zipper

After almost six months of work, I'm proud to finally present my integrated commuter rail map of New York City and Philadelphia!

Showing five different commuter rail systems (#CTRail, #MetroNorth, #LIRR, #NJTransit, and #SEPTA), this map depicts everywhere a passenger can get to by train from NYC or Philadelphia without using Amtrak.

This is by far the most complicated map I've ever made, but I'm incredibly happy with the result!

Hey @SicTransitPHL, @skyfaller, other #SEPTA folks: It looks like Thursday is going to be an impromptu Take Your Child To Work Day for me. Has Septa figured out the multiple-rider problem with septa keys yet? it seems like maybe they haven't? Is there another option that can easily be done without visiting a ticket office in advance? I suppose I could dig up $3.50 in cash but that seems so last-century. (I have a septa key with sufficient money in the travel wallet and autofill is on)
