4 #REMjourney Reckoning
I've listened to this album a few times before, but somehow no song has stuck with me except 7 Chinese Bros.
This time it was exactly the same. I don't know why but Murmur grabbed me more.

Album #2 on my R.E.M. deep dive is Reckoning, released in the same year as I was.
Just like Murmur the first song gives me strong The Clash and partly Police vibes. Must be the guitars.

Early R.E.M. was some of the best R.E.M.

This evening’s “live” selection on deck is a rendition of an R.E.M. tune I always liked but was never too sure of the lyrics - Stipe kinda rambled through a lot of em on the studio recording.

A Song For You Extra (7/31/2023)
“#ItMustHaveBeenTheRoses (Live Acoustic 1980)” by the #GratefulDead
NOTE: Just because this tune is so pretty. This is off of #Reckoning / #ForTheFaithful, one of the major label live albums. It is so underrated. I’m not a Deadhead by any means, but this album is a keeper.

Starting in early June 2020, I worked to create a public archive of T. Greg Doucette's (TW @greg_doucette) Police Brutality Mega-thread (PBMT). The PBMT collected over 1300 pieces of photographic and video evidence of over 1000 illegal acts of police bruality in America in the wake of George Floyd's murder. This thread changed forever the way many American's view and understand the culture of law enforcement, and I hope the archive can serve as an asset to others with an interest in changing that culture.

My pinned tweet on Twitter pointed to this archive, but Twitter no longer merits this information. While Greg's mega-thread will remain on twitter, and while my archive will continue to have links to each of its entries, my pointers to this archive are moving elsewhere. For now, this will be Mastodon.
Police brutality is part of law enforcement culture. It has not stopped, and law enforcement has been slow to hold itself accountable. Keep sharing this archive. Keep sharing video evidence of police brutality.
