@design_law yes, definitely, that probably applies in that case too. Also reward can take many forms - like getting your salary at the end of the month or ticking an item off your to-do list.

This also relates to generalization: when the brain encounters a new situation it will attempt to match it to similar ones previously encountered; if they do exist then it is likely that the same sequence of actions will be applied. Reasoning uses energy and automation helps reduce energy cost… at the risk of sometimes producing a non-appropriate action. I’m sure lots of references on this exist that maybe actual human #Psychologists will know about (I’m more of a rat person).

Is a dog more similar to a chicken or an eagle? Is a penguin noisy? Is a whale friendly? #Psychologists at the University of California, Berkeley, say these absurd-sounding #questions might help us better understand what’s at the heart of some of #society’s most vexing #arguments.

@athomeinmyhead

I've asked this a few days ago, and I'll repeat it here:

Are there any #psychologists who can explain to me why the fuck a man of colour would be a Proud Boy? Why would a man of colour join white nationalists, or a queer person join the far right , etc

A Jew, a Muslim, a woman, an immigrant etc Why do far right people with any of these identities be a Tory, a far right person, a member of the U.S.'s GOP, a Trumper, etc You know where I'm going with this question. In a word, why would some1 run with people who hate them?
