Scripting OS X
In the last bi-weekly (fortnightly) Summercamp issue of MacAdmins.news, we look at the security updates, lots of app and tools updates, and have links to several amazing posts and tutorials from fellow Mac Admins. Tom Lorenz
When I went to the #MacAdmins conference last month I found it interesting to hear how different people pronounced the “admins” part. Some said “ad-MINS” where others said “AD-mins”. Neither is right nor wrong, of course, but it was interesting.

i wanted to see what happens on macOS when you create a large number of user accounts. Is there an upper limit besides disk space?

So I changed XCreds to create a user and password with a random UUID when it starts up. A launchdaemon watches for a file as root and does a launchctl bootout to log out the current user.

I also put in a launch agent that runs as a user that touches the file and keeps a log of the login. It then bounces back to login window, which logs in again.

SysAdmins, if you haven’t noticed iMazing Profile Editor version 2 release yet, Bradley Chambers, 9to5Mac’s go-to voice for Apple IT and system administration certainly has, and he’s highlighting Total App Setup as a key innovation for automating macOS app configuration 🏆
iPE 2 also brings visionOS support, improved payload import/export, and MCX compatibility — making it the most capable iPE to date.

I'm a bit late but finally I published a first draft of Tahoe-Compatibility-Checker to use in your Jamf Pro as an extension attribute.

As for previous years, feel free to comment.

Also, remember, if you are already running macOS 26 Tahoe, it will report as false as the initial goal is to give you devices that are ready to get the OS. If you want to change that behavior, see the comment in the Readme.

Enjoy!
