FYI: I have made public new #NetBSD AMIs for #AWS #ec2. These are evbarm and amd64 images for NetBSD/10.1 and now have their boot messages sent to the serial console (although it takes EC2 about 5-8 minutes from instance creation until `aws ec2 get-console-output` shows the messages).

The reference platform for my "Advanced Programming in the #UNIX Environment" and #SysAdmin classes has been #NetBSD for about two decades now. Unfortunately, the NetBSD project does not provide up to date Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) for #EC2, so I have been creating my own.

Downside of the #cloud. At one of the places I work, someone shut down ALL of my Amazon #EC2 machines this weekend, with no notice. No idea who, no warning, probably doesn't even know our department exists.
