@Free_Press As an off peak demand consumer already, my choice to avoid ordering fries that have been sitting around under a heat lamp for hours means less profit for businesses.
The only solution is to demand a fresh made batch with no salt which ruins profit margins and pisses off employees whohate doing extra work for meager wages.
Stale #FrenchFries aren’t worth any kind of marketing as an “off peak demand discount”.
Wendy’s will experiment with dynamic surge pricing for food in 2025 - Enlarge / A view of a Wendy's store on August 9, 2023 in Nanuet, New Yo... - https://arstechnica.com/?p=2006213 #machinelearning #dynamicpricing #doordash #fastfood #ubereats #biz #wendys #uber #ai
Ignoring practical implementations (which are overwhelming bad, as it is driven by profit), #DynamicPricing #algorithm still looks flawed, even in theory. Does an efficient #market (which is practically impossible anyway) really benefit people more than, say, #coop ? I think we should jump out of the concepts of #money.
动态定价在实际操作上早已弊端重重,但理论上鄙人认为这也说不过去。一个高效运行的市场难道会比集体主义(比如资源共享)更加造福于人吗?鄙人认为我们不应该把自己局限于金钱的观念。
