A Embaixada da China no Brasil anunciou, nesta terça-feira (11), o primeiro lançamento dos "Panda Bonds" de 2025. Esses títulos, emitidos em yuan (moeda chinesa), são vendidos na China por organizações estrangeiras — neste caso, pelo NDB (New Development Bank) o banco do Brics.

O dinheiro arrecadado será usado para financiar obras de infraestrutura e projetos sustentáveis no Brasil e em outros países em desenvolvimento.

True, and when your currency isn't in hyper demand, like the USD has been since the end of the gold standard in 1973, and like most currencies now, countries can't get away with rampant printing without devaluing. That's one of the reasons why, like, Ecuador uses mostly USD domestically.

Also, part of why the US maintains a non-infinite debt ceiling.

And if the USD demand dwindles far enough, they won't be able to be an exception anymore.

#brics could be deadly.

This is so huge. Like, for 20 years China has been buying enough United States 9-day Treasury Bills, over and over again, which has kept the country afloat.

At any point in the last generation, China could have tanked the US economy by stopping propping up its dollar.

Canada isn't China, but we sure can make a dent. And let the Americans know that we are yet another country that won't store so many dollars anymore.
