oh nice this is definitely getting spun today. new 'supergroup' of grass players called Mighty Poplar
@LostReflector have seen them live twice now ~ they are focusing almost solely on very traditional #bluegrass (in intentional contrast to the #newgrass #jamgrass #spacegrass #classicalgrass most of them do in their other bands) it's cool to see their excellence in this more historical genre also
@LostReflector ps in fact had a brief conversation with Chris "Critter" Eldridge about this and he mentioned how these players first got together back in 2019 or something at a festival I think and decided they wanted to create a band to show off their love for old-timey #bluegrass but then took over 2 years to get the album done because they were all so busy with their main projects + the pandemic interruptions of course
