If there’s one thing I’ve relearned after being back in the US after a month in Europe is that Europeans work to live, and Americans live to work. In retrospect, I guess maybe that’s why I was so attracted to being a Deadhead after living as a teen in France. I think Phish folk are like that too. We’ve worked to “tour” so that we can really live.

During your month in Europe, what was the feel you got from Europeans about this disastrous election and the coming years of dealing w/the incoming regime? I assume they all think we are psychotic idiots (because so many of us are)?

@2dogphish It felt a little like an apology tour to us but was interesting. We had talks about it with locals in Nederlands, France, and Italy. The French were the most scared but understood as they’ve got a right nationalist faction with LePen who almost won there. The Italians (young students from university of Bologna) had the most surprising attitude. They thought him necessary to make Europe more independent. They were very far left kids (which there is popular communist party)
