Trickster encounters, good or bad, detach us from familiar, often fossilized, socially sanctioned norms. These norms provide a useful service, preserving what ‘is’. But they may also shackle us to a version of the world that no longer exists: a world that has changed while we were ‘busy making other plans.’
Recorded another one of my videos where I essentially capture the state of a build at the end of the league. This time it was my Ice Trap of Hollowness Trickster from #PohxLeague.
Pretty solid build, but due to the limited trade environment I never could get the defensive layers up high enough to make it feel super comfy.

Stories and beliefs associated to the Mantis among the Hadzabe of Tanzania compare with the well-known figure of the Mantis among the /Xam Southern #San #huntergatherers. This suggests great antiquity of the concepts related to #lunar time.
The word itself -- !o!oko -- is probably very ancient with double alveolar-palatal click (pop sound from taking your tongue quickly away from the alveolar ridge). The -ko ending implies femaleness, but this entity has gender fluidity.

Years ago, I was friends with a real trickster. Sometimes if he was at someone's house where the folks had cats, he would shit in the litter box so the cat owners would freak out come time to change the litter.
But then he got caught in flagrante delicto, and there was no explaining it away.
Imagine catching someone shitting in a litter box.

An electrical appliance in our kitchen refused to work for several days.
When all attempts to fix it had failed, we somewhat reluctantly acknowledged the presence of the Trickster archetype, which has the power to disrupt or ‘overthrow programs’ (according to Jung and Campbell).
The appliance now works.

On Christmas 1895, riverboat gambler William "Stack" Lee shot and killed William Lyons in a St Louis saloon in a dispute over a Stetson hat. The take quickly entered folklore and song. In different telling, the titular character can be a hero, anti hero and outlaw, a 20th century manifestation of the Trickster, defying convention and blending the lines between failure and triumph. Here's a few favourite versions, taking the take from ballad to folk hero.
