My partner (who has lived in Scotland for 40 odd years since childhood) is not willing to travel at the moment given the SNAFU that is the e-Visa program.
Foreign nationals are being wrongly denied entry to the UK after a faltering start to plans to digitise the immigration system.
They have struggled to board flights to Britain, despite having legal residence status, as their electronic visas are not working.

Oof. That was awkward. A while back, I was looking for places that accept reprints and a particular magazine came up. I read the guidelines, didn't see anything about it not accepting reprints, so sent a packet of them over.
I just got a reply saying my pieces have been rejected because they had already been printed. The tone of the letter implied that I was trying to pull a fast one over on them.
I replied explaining that I'd thought they accepted reprints based on an article I'd read (but can no longer remember where I read it, alas). I apologized for wasting their time, and that I'd read their submission guidelines before sending my pieces off.
Eek. I hope they don't blacklist me for what seems to be a communications snafu. #publishing #WritingCommunity #snafu

#TSB switched us from Visa to Mastercard. Fine, but the Mastercard never appears in your online banking account so there’s no way to pay it off. As of today, the balances for all accounts have vanished on Vivaldi, though you can still see them on Firefox. Still no credit card entry though.
They’ve had how many years to prepare this transition?

LOL caught in an endless email chain which resulted when a nonprofit group subscribed dozens of people to an email list (without asking permission, opted them in) and their "unsubscribe" function doesn't work. Now the admins are spamming everyone on the list in defensive manner. Almost comical, really.

Based on complete failure by the project manager to respond to either phone call or text, and the inside office person pointing fingers at the project manager (after the project manager pointed at the inside office person), I am going to file this under "likely contractor SNAFU" ie carpet likely not ordered. So now, to see how quickly they move to fix the situation, or if it's another ask-insurance-to-lean-into-situation problem. I may be wrong, but past experience with these folks is silence = screwup of some sort. #snafu #contractors #disasterremodeling
