Martijn Vos<p>It's that time of the decade that I need to buy a new PC. The 5 year old one is still fine, but my oldest son has confiscated it, and my youngest son keeps bringing friends to play Roblox or Minecraft, and my laptop is struggling with Factorio, so we need a new PC.</p><p>I did my usual thing of researching the current tech and components, posting my selection on a PC builders forum, and expecting some feedback, but I'm not getting any. No idea what I'm doing wrong. But because of that, I'm not going to bore all of you with my plans.</p><p>The parts list: <a href="https://nl.pcpartpicker.com/list/ryn9qm" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">nl.pcpartpicker.com/list/ryn9q…</a></p><p>My goal is a PC that's powerful, versatile, quiet, energy efficient, and reliable enough to last me 10 years. So I want reliable, quiet, energy efficient components that give a lot of power per Watt.</p><p>In the comments I'll discuss my reasoning behind some of the individual components. If you've got some better suggestions or any remarks at all, feel free to add them.</p><p>Also, no Windows any more for me. This is going to be a Linux gaming machine.</p><p><a href="https://nerdica.net/search?tag=pc" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pc</span></a> <a href="https://nerdica.net/search?tag=pcbuild" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pcbuild</span></a> <a href="https://nerdica.net/search?tag=pcbuilding" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pcbuilding</span></a> <a href="https://nerdica.net/search?tag=linuxgaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>linuxgaming</span></a> <a href="https://nerdica.net/search?tag=silentpc" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>silentpc</span></a></p>
