hey #magicthegathering masto, I have a cube based on the plane Innistrad. It has cards from every set from the plane, plus cards explicitly on the plane. I'm trying to unifiy the werewolves and related cards. in a vacuum, which would you prefer:
day/night for all related cards or no daynight at all

Manifesting a Pithing Needle reprint in the Spider-man Magic set, for maximum chaos.
Big shake up to the commander B&R this morning. Things at our FLGS have been going well and excitement around commander brackets is bringing in new types of players. What do Y'all think, anything they missed?
Join me for my first #magicthegathering based video!
I sit out on the curb in front of the Bennigan’s in Monahans, TX and savagely open a whole sealed box of Alpha boosters... while eating a Monte Cristo sandwich and some cheese doodles from my car, with nothing to wash them down.
I'm tossing every card directly into a sweaty newsboy hat 10' away, which will be cut into my first trickshot video!
Finally had time to make Mythic in #mtgArena this season for the first time in a while, using a new deck *and* playing Bo3, which is *not* my comfort zone! Super fun.
Okay, weird question time: what are the best storage options for large sets of Magic: The Gathering cards that will be in a storage building? I need to place probably over 20,000 cards in a storage unit on for an indeterminate amount of time. I don't want cold, hot, moisture, dryness to impact their integrity. What is a good way to accomplish this? Note that this unit is not climate controlled.
We shuffle up and deal out the complete list of all Magic: The Gathering planes that have appeared in official Dungeons & Dragons publications over the years. https://dungeonsanddragonsfan.com/magic-the-gathering-planes-in-dnd/ #dnd #dnd5e #dungeonsanddragons #dungeonsanddragons5e #dungeonmaster #magicthegathering #wizardsofthecoast #wotc #ttrpg
I need someone who has been on the Internet as long as I have to tell me what Essence Anchor reminds them of.

1. #Cycling weather, which shall be duly used
2. New #MagicTheGathering cards to play with tonight
3. Looks like our young apple tree (planted in crappy soil in a crappy, shady spot) woke up after the winter and is not ready to give up without a fight. We love a survivor story arc.

Development on a "Magic: The Gathering" movie is continuing, with Canadian filmmaker Matt Johnson in pole position to direct, according to @Deadline. Johnson has solid indie roots, having co-created the "Nirvana the Band the Show" web series and low-budget films "The Dirties" and "Operation Avalanche" before hitting the relative big time with the well-received "BlackBerry" in 2023. Trading card game Magic: The Gathering is Hasbro's first billion-dollar brand. Here's more.
If you had to, could you name the colors that the tarkir clans were centered in in Khans? #mtg #magicthegathering #mtgpolls
@jonathankoren @Talen_Lee @maywecomein That misses my point. What I was saying is, there is some precedent for an effect looking at whether something else in the game uses X, and that suggests a possible avenue for treating "+1/+1 for each" different from "+X/+X". This argument does not care whether X is a mana cost or something else.
It is true that as far as I know, X has never been referenced this way when it was anything other than a mana cost - but that doesn't mean it couldn't be.
@jonathankoren @Talen_Lee @maywecomein I guess for spells there are things like "players can't cast spells with X in their mana cost", but I don't know if there's any way to do something analogous for referencing X in an ability's effect. But it's plausible enough to make one wonder.
Is “gets +X/+X where X is the number of creatures you control” and “gets +1/+1 for each creature you control” rules-wise equivalent?
Someone at Prerelease just said "my 6/6 flying double strike lifelinker" and I love Tarkir so much. #MagicTheGathering
Jesus Christ, I JUST saw Essence Anchor from Tarkir: Dragonstorm.
I'm not gonna say anything 'cause I'm sure every joke was made in the first 10 seconds after it was revealed.
I'm not even going to attach the image. If you want to know what I mean, you can go at see for yourself.
Edit: I mean, "go AND see" for yourself.
In case you missed it, it'd be super cool if you watch our latest Canadian Highlander video. It's got goblins AND merfolk, what more could you want? https://youtu.be/IxB9K4qcv5s
