#BBC6Music have mixed up their DJs during the school holiday. They're playing "Ashes to Ashes" by David Bowie - every once in a while I try to see if I can work out who was in the video.

Thinking about how the virus I’m now hosting killed my friend Graeme, and at least 5 others in my circle…
A few days before he passed away, Graeme posted this song on all of his social media accounts. David Bowie’s “Lazarus.”
Man, I’m feeling it.
Graeme was being treated for cancer. He too was a brilliant musician in his own right.
#OnThisDay in 2006, Singer #DavidBowie joins guitarist #DavidGilmour as special guest during encore at Royal Albert Hall, London concert; they perform "Arnold Layne" and "Comfortably Numb" in what becomes Bowie's final UK appearance.

Okay, I couldn't resist it, I bought myself the copy of Reinhard Kleist's Low graphic memoir of Bowie's Berlin years I got in for the bookshop...
Loved Reinhard's work since his Johnny Cash graphic biography. Was told one reason the publisher translated that one was they'd seen us writing about it in it's German form on the Forbidden Planet Blog (RIP) & sought it out to do in English, which made me happy.
"Can you hear me, Major Tom?"
Low by the brilliant Reinhard Kleist, who gave us the amazing graphic biographies of Nick Cave & Johnny Cash, whic I heartily recommend, covers Bowie's Berlin years.
Out now from SelfMadeHero.
The Manish Boys/Davy Jones & The Lower 3rd – 1982 (recordings from 1965) - 10"
Raw and brimming with mod energy, this early glimpse of David Bowie (as Davy Jones) captures the sound of mid-60s British R&B and beat music in full swing. Gritty vocals, sharp suits, and swinging London vibes. Bowie’s roots on full display.
Released today 46 years ago: David Bowie "Lodger" – 1979
