Today in Labor History March 31, 1883: Cowboys in the Texas panhandle began a 2-and-a-half-month strike for higher wages. Investment firms from the East Coast and Europe were taking over the land and cutting benefits that cowboys had accustomed to, like keeping some horses for themselves and holding some of the land for their own small farming. New ranch owners were more interested in expanding holdings and increasing profits, forcing their hands to work entirely for wages, and maintaining all livestock entirely for the profit of the owners.

Media from as far away as Colorado accused the cowboys of being incendiaries, threatening to burn down the ranches, attacking ranchers, and indiscriminately killing cattle.

Hey there! Did you know that most social interactions among lizards 🦎 are between breeding individuals? It's pretty fascinating stuff! Territorial behavior is quite common, especially in species that use sit-and-wait hunting 🤺 strategies. Males typically set up and defend territories that attract females with key resources like basking spots ☀️, feeding areas 🐛, and nesting sites 🌳 while also offering protection from predators.

So, what's your favorite lizard 🦎? If you're not a fan of these scaly creatures, I'd love to know why! Personally, I find blue-tongued skinks super cool. And let's not forget about the mighty Komodo Dragons 🐉, they're just incredible!

Over on TikTok I watched one video where some BookTok ladies were drooling about super-overprotective kinky spanking cowboys in a BDSM romance and then *swipe* I'm watching all those Idaho Republicans let that lady get kidnapped without lifting a finger and then *swipe* back on BookTok cowboys and then it hit me.

There wasn't ONE damn real cowboy in that whole ROOMFUL of Idaho Republicans.
