The Republican super PAC American Crossroads is pulling nearly $3 million in ads from Montana, which could be a sign of confidence that they think Tim Sheehy (R) may have the Senate race in the bag, Politico reports.
“We formed that department so little Black girls could go to school down South, & we could have integrated schooling. We don’t need that anymore,” #TimSheehy said.
Today, the #Education Dept’s Office for #CivilRights still investigates allegations of #discrimination on the basis of #race, as well as #sex & other factors. It has also said sex discrimination includes discrimination based on #gender identity, stirring opposition from *conservatives*.
And in #Montana, #Republican #Senate challenger #TimSheehy says he wants to do away w/the agency by “throwing it in the trash can,” the Daily Montanan reported. “We have a Dept of Education, which I don’t think we need anymore,” Sheehy said. “It should go away.”
