Had some fun in #Sims2. I almost forgot about option to import own #pictures and let characters paint them.
I chose some of my works, these good looking as thumbnails, so they could be possibly intelligible in game scale. When I tested, about half of them worked as expected, the rest was not available. I am not sure what was the factor. Too many colour shades? File size?
My drawings are png files, mostly below 1000 px in any dimension. Most of them weight less than 1 MB. I plan to make more experiments with it.
I was bulk downloading #TheSims2 mods. #Zip archives. Had 50 - 80 of them per directory. Wanted to unpack this fast, tried in one line for loop in bash. Cool. But few days later I started downloading grom other website. When some archives had spaces in filenames. And my smart way stopped working... Now time to create whole #Bash script for this, I guess...

Using GRM on the legacy collection could break the game! GRM will not go away with the Legacy Collection release, it'll remain available for the classic CD/DVD/Ultimate Collection versions. So you got a fancy new PC and would very much like to play the slightly older Sims 2 game on it. You're running an up-to-date Windows version, got a Full HD monitor and... the game just looks horrendous and the resolution won't go beyond 1600x1200.
