My teenage daughter had a dozen girlfriends over last night for a hangout / taco dinner /dance party. I spent all day shopping for party supplies, and to satisfy the complex suite of dietary needs for her guests who variously maintain halal, kosher, vegan, and gluten free diets. My wife and I carefully labeled everything on the table so the kids would know what was cool for them to eat, and that earned us many appreciative remarks. After dinner, they cranked up the music and spent the next three hours dancing, laughing, and shrieking, with the cacophony punctuated by the occasional sound of a party balloon being popped. (Which of course elicited additional shrieking.)

A parade of sleepy parents picked them all up just before midnight, after which we cleaned up and then crashed hard. It was a long day, and an even better night.

Observing the way these kids all respect and look out for one another regardless of their differences makes me hope they'll be the generation that finally launches the pathetic right-wing manbabies of our present moment back to the stone age.

Spent weekend canvassing in NV. Coming from a 'blue' state, this was a huge wakeup call. GOTV is critical, 3 takeaways:

1. Race, gender, disinfo had "lifelong" Dems we met repeating media themes, some even "betting against Trump" & "voting for Vance" or Kennedy 👀

2. The younger the voter, the more enthusiasm for Harris/Walz 🎉 #TheKidsAreAlright

3. If you canvas, PLEASE volunteer with official campaign teams. Ran into adhoc groups out there whose efforts were backfiring.

"'These people are afraid of change, & they’re afraid of real education, about real history, about real subjects that can actually lead to powerful impacts on the world,' said K.C. Casey, a student organizer & New College graduating senior, in reference to the school's administration. 'So we know that we are the kind of students that can make those changes in the world, & we’re going to do that.'" 👏 👏 👏 #TheKidsAreAlright nbcnews.com/politics/politics-
