I’ve successfully talked myself out of the Skybound Transformers compendium Kickstarter. I only really need the UK stuff (but a matched set would be nice), I would have to sell some stuff to make it happen financially, and it’s just a deluxe limited version of something that’ll have a standard release. Also it bugs me how not-Marvel-G1 all the Kickstarter branding for it is.
It’s taken its damn time but I’m starting to enjoy Void Rivals a good bit more than the Transformers ongoing. I’m sick of people wanting to redo 1984, give me more people wanting to redo 1986. Give me more of the weird season 3 vibe and obtuse Visionaries refs.

@trixter what I *don’t* like is that he’s only committed to 6-issues. But if #skybound is just going to do one and done TPBs? Your quality is going to vary on teams. Your overarching story is going to bend to the whims of your ever changing creatives. Is there a grand plan with a “showrunner”? I trust Johnson to write a good, personal story but if it’s not *his* story how personal is it to him? #transformers
@trixter my 2¢ on the matter is when have we ever had a hot multi-Eisner nominated creator wanting to do a story? We just finished a *decade* of fan oriented stories. Plus I dig Johnson’s art style and the books I’ve read? #skybound #Transformers
I'm sure I'm going to read it regardless because I'm kind of a fiction completeist but... I'm not feeling the hype for this new Transformers comic. If the biggest twist they have is using Cliffjumper instead of Bumblebee? Whew.
(I still assert that "RIRFIB" is a classist position though.)
