Apparently SCSS variables can't be used to declare CSS variables?

This doesn't work:

--width: $sWidth;

I've been planning to spin up a small personal website. I knew I didn't need a full-blown CMS for this and, since I have so much experience using Bootstrap through my day job, decided to use it to build a site from scratch. It's been a while since I created a site from scratch—most of my experience lately involves taking on existing Enterprise sites and caretaking from there—but I was looking forward to both the challenge and the freedom of building my own.

Because someone just hearted a 5 year old @codepen demo https://codepen.io/thebabydino/pen/GRooBJm?editors=0100 I made using a #Sass function + looping to generate a #CSS : we don't need *any* Sass for this anymore!

We can now do it with

• Otherwise #BASIC and all the #Shells (like #bash & #fish) ain't programming languagues eiter.

I'd go so far as to say that #Markdown and #BBcode also qualify as sub- and supersets of #HTML just like #Sass for #JavaScript.

• For a #Programming #Languague it's irrelevant if they need a compiler and/or interpreter as the reason to use them is to have a #HumanReadable & -editable codebase and not some #Apple1-Style "shoving binary data to a certain adress and hit run" kinda situation.

Even #COBOL on #PunchCards is #ProgrammingCode!

I'm using @eleventy v3 with the Bundle/Render plugins to render #Sass assets, it’s awesome.

BUT!

In my code:

If I move `{%- css "critical" %}…{% endcss %}` inside the included Nunjucks “component”, this component doesn't render anymore in the HTML of the page, without any warning or error.

#sass is great when people who knows their #css use it to work less and better.

Unfortunately I see more of the opposite: people who can't grasp css using sass to work more and deliver a) a worst compiled code, and b) an unreadable source.

Found another bug with #Sass and this time it's not a version issue as I am able to reproduce it with the latest version.
