Apparently SCSS variables can't be used to declare CSS variables?
This doesn't work:
--width: $sWidth;

I've been planning to spin up a small personal website. I knew I didn't need a full-blown CMS for this and, since I have so much experience using Bootstrap through my day job, decided to use it to build a site from scratch. It's been a while since I created a site from scratch—most of my experience lately involves taking on existing Enterprise sites and caretaking from there—but I was looking forward to both the challenge and the freedom of building my own.
Because someone just hearted a 5 year old @codepen demo https://codepen.io/thebabydino/pen/GRooBJm?editors=0100 I made using a #Sass function + looping to generate a #CSS : we don't need *any* Sass for this anymore!
We can now do it with
background:
linear-gradient(in hsl longer hue 90deg,
hsl(0, 95%, 65%) 0 0)
"And what are you going to do about it???"
Indy must have been paying attention to the conversations in the house about the erosion of rules-based order. That paper towel never had a chance.
Meet Sassy Sparklepuff. She takes no nonsense and serves extra sass with a side of sparkle! https://1-lisas-baker.pixels.com/featured/sassy-sparklepuff-says-be-nice-lisa-s-baker.html
#HTML is a #ProgrammingLanguage. Just because it's a #Markup & directly #interpreted languague doesn't make it less valid!
I'd go so far as to say that #Markdown and #BBcode also qualify as sub- and supersets of #HTML just like #Sass for #JavaScript.
Even #COBOL on #PunchCards is #ProgrammingCode!
I'm using @eleventy v3 with the Bundle/Render plugins to render #Sass assets, it’s awesome.
BUT!
In my code:
```
{% if sub_galleries_number > 0 %}
{%- css "critical" %}{% renderFile "src/assets/sass/components/sub_galleries.scss" %}{% endcss %}
{% include 'components/sub_galleries.njk' %}
{% endif %}
```
If I move `{%- css "critical" %}…{% endcss %}` inside the included Nunjucks “component”, this component doesn't render anymore in the HTML of the page, without any warning or error.
Thus, I'm considering forbidding the use of #sass in our in-house projects.
Please, give me reasons to not to.

It looks like a serious issue. I didn't notice it but a double slash (//) in #Sass is used to include inline comments so using it as a value is not easy to parse
Found another bug with #Sass and this time it's not a version issue as I am able to reproduce it with the latest version.
It also mean I am probably the only one using that strange border-image syntax
I have come to the conclusion that my css skills are not great.
Anyone recommend resources for a speedy ramping up of all things css appreciated?
@stefan I am wondering how to implement this for people using #Sass
In particular, I use eleventy-sass.
