Arlot's Les Suchots 1995, arrives at Age 30 year: Typical pale Pinot, but not mostly age-created color--I don't recall that's changed TOO much since I bought it c. 1997. The label is sure faded though! The wine is vibrant & lovely, however--raspberries, a bright feel, mid-palate finesse and a hint of earth. It adds complexity, not decay, faded then improved on day two.

And finally, that last bottle moment. It held beautifully, even better than the penultimate one--bright, silky, a touch of tart raspberries. It's aromatic, in great shape and focused, good depth, earthy hint. This was always a fine '96 from Laurent. Still is. About $46 then (circa 1997). 13% on label. #burgundy #wine #pinotnoir

Well this may get lost in the Black Friday shuffle, but....

California Pinot can't age? This producer has made a few that age just fine! Still amazing how great this was nearing age 30. The color gives it mostly a youthful appearance for its age. It's silky, delicious and bright. It has the combo of finesse and flavor I want from Pinot. It added complexity as it aired out. This was gorgeous. These days, about $100 for new vintages. #wine #pinotnoir #california

PixelfedWine (@wine@pixelfed.social)2021 Samuel Robert Winery Pinot Noir Vineyard Reserve $17.99 / 87 30+ minute decant 13.5% I originally wrote a review of this wine after thanksgiving 2022, but it’s been enough time that I thought an update was in order. A modest cherry and vanilla on the nose. Pale purple, a hint of legs only. Light bodied, fruity, almost oily, which is surprising. A pleasantly ripe, somewhat sweet cherry, a hint of cranberry, vanilla, light baking spice on the palate. Medium acidity, low tannins. Very smooth. Not complex at all, this Pinot relies on its easygoing personality to win you over. Consistently good without being great, probably a crowd pleaser, depending on your particular crowd. Tried with Brie. The somewhat sweet fruitiness of the Pinot complimented the cheese quite well. #wine #wineReview #oregon #pinotNoir
