@mariatta these things are one of the main roles of "Pythonbrasil" - the Brazilian org equivalent to the #PSF - it takes a 10% of any donations, and that is enough to cover operational costs, and then it works as an Umbrella org through which the money for most Python events in Brazil goes through.

I've even used Pythonbrasil to fill this role when organizing the non-directly-related to #Python #Libregraphicsmeeting in 2017

Also, the page says "once on the PayPal site click the link Don't have a PayPal account?. A PayPal account is not required."

This is not true, a paypal account is apparently now REQUIRED. If you click on "Don't have a PayPal account" and fill in the payment information, it only allows you to complete the transaction by creating a paypal account.

I've thought for a few years that there's more friction than necessary becoming a PSF member...more stress than expected, I'll send a check. #psf

If you’re a voting #PSF member pls listen up; I’m interrupting my last day in a hammock on the beach just for you.

I’m sure you’ve seen a lot of subposts lately about bylaw change #3 which would allow the PSF board to yeet PSF Fellows for CoC misconduct under certain circumstances.

I am a PSF Fellow and I’ll vote for it—let me explain why. (1/7)
