Keep the #Halloween spirit going in our neighbourhood with a #community #PumpkinParade!

Bring your carved #JackOLanterns down to #GorgePark between 3-5pm on November 1st, then return from 6-8pm to see them all lit up together as you take a spooky stroll! There is no limit to the number of #pumpkins you can bring down - the more, the merrier!

***If you're unable to bring your pumpkin down to the park and live in the #GorgeTillicum area, please put your pumpkins at the end of your driveway by 1pm and we will attempt to pick them up.***

The event will be held in Gorge Park adjacent to the parking lot opposite Orillia Street. Entertainment will run from 6pm - 7:30pm and there will be free hot chocolate and treats for the community.

This year, your pumpkins will get a third chance to entertain as they'll be delivered to the Tillicum Centre Pumpkin Smash the following day! Saanich Firefighters will be dropping the pumpkins from atop fire ladder before they go to compost station.

Yesterday I got a LOT of leaves tilled into the garden soil. The garden has been put to bed for the winter, there are still some greens, turnips and carrots along the edges. It’s nice to have some fresh stuff this time of year. To round out the evening, I watched 2 scary movies, drank cider and carved pumpkins. Another in my Halloween countdown pumpkin series - Racer. An early maturing variety with deep orange fruits weighing 5-7kg (11-15lb). Very good flavour and can be stored for several weeks in a cool dry place.

1. Having an #indoorbike so I can get on, ride and drink my tea while watching the morning news.

2. A neighbour who wasn’t going to bake with her #jackolanterns told me to take as many as I wanted so I took the big one and am making pumpkin pie today. Discount pie!

3. It’s not raining so far today, so I’ll be able to take some dying plants out of the garden without getting wet!

14 and I carved punkins tonight and sang Total Eclipse of the Heart at the top of our lungs. 'twas real fun. :-) Here's a close-up of Jack and the Pretty Pittie and a shot showing our shadows (tried to get a photo in the dark, forgot we live on a street with streetlights!).
