Apple just made #WSL a legacy technology.

Happy to recommend #macOS for container development. If performance and memory consumption against #Linux is negligible, then it will be my top recommendation for sure.

It's FOSS News · macOS Meets Linux with Open Source ContainerizationApple’s new open source Containerization project brings native Linux container support to macOS.

Very impressed so far with #OpenCoreLegacyPatcher. I installed it on my old 2015 iMac who's internal drive struggled to boot, giving the spinning rainbow cursor constantly.

I've just put Sequoia on an external SSD and it runs nearly as well as my M3 iMac.

Only downside so far is despite following all instructions for getting Universal Control working, I can't 🙁 and it's a really neat feature.

I'm a mostly regular @atpfm listener. This week's show was an interesting one as the principals rounded on their meal-ticket.

Thinking about what was said, I believe that Apple has not found the new visionary to replace Steve Jobs. Tim Cook is good at taking a hill but not so good at finding new hills to take. So Apple keeps tinkering at the margins of its products. Meanwhile the computer architecture and design groups keep over-achieving.

This is so stupid... My wife accidentally turned off #Bluetooth on her #iMac , and now there is no way we can find to turn it on again with just the keyboard.

We can get the bluetooth settings panel by search, but trying to tab doesn't work - the focus never leaves the search input.

I will probably have to bring a wired mouse from work tomorrow. Even freaking Linux lets you access this kind of stuff with just a keyboard.

Ok. I've been an #Apple person since high school. But I'm woefully out of date on the current specs.
Looking at an M4 #iMac (having lived though the bs of the MBP and it's shit cooling for about 5 gens) and totally unsure this is worth it:
