Report: Israeli defense officials told NYT that the IDF knew it was risking Israeli hostages who were in tunnels near its attacks.

Days after the attacks, six hostages' bodies were found.

At the time, the IDF claimed to be unaware of hostages' presence in the area.

I was following the news on various telegram channels (in English, Arabic and Hebrew) and one of the stories that completely disappeared from the web and news media was what happened to the "Sderot’s local police station" where Palestinian resistance taking a stand against the Israeli military and police.

I had pictures of when IDF used bulldozers against it and when tanks arrived at the site, but then everything was cut off and all you could see was the destroyed building (with all the Israeli police and civilians inside) and nothing else.

All that is available today is some propaganda pieces by the Israeli media without a SINGLE mention of the actual events on that day and all those killed there are listed as "murdered by Hamas".

#Israel cares almost as little about its own people as the #US does.

Not only did Israel murder hundreds of Israelis on October 7 using the #HannibalDirective, it also killed many of the hostages by indiscriminately bombing #Gaza, three of them who were holding up a white flag as they were escaping from captivity, and this poor slob who had joined the #IDF just a day earlier.

I'd say that a “music festival” on illegally occupied land is a huge provocation. Approved only two days prior to the event, with removed border patrols, detailed intel about HAMAS plans, and after several warning signs (by Egypt and others)
... it was an opportunity to explain a #zioNAZI #genocide, almost like the #radioGleiwitz incident. No need to mention that #hannibaldirective didn't help saving Jews.

Trump's Hannibal Lecter references: Asylum or Hannibal directive?

Speculation has been that Trump's mentions of Hannibal Lecter are due to conflating asylum seekers with "insane asylum escapees."

But what if it was mention of the IDF's Hannibal Directive that got him thinking about it?

AFAICT, he first mentions Hannibal on Oct 7 2023. Several minutes later he mentions the Hamas attacks.

Refaat was a consistently high quality poster about OSINT out of the region regarding the conflict.

[…] The solution to the heart-wrenching dilemma was to implement the Hannibal Directive without firing a single shot: delay the negotiations, drag your feet, procrastinate, leave them in the tunnels for as long as possible, effectively sentencing them to death.

Israeli society has become more violent and indifferent to the plight of victims and displaced persons. Yossi Klein claims there’s a tendency to see kidnapees as "bargaining chips" and to prefer aggressive military action over negotiating their release. This should stop.

The "Hannibal mindset" of essentially allowing kidnapees to die rather than be released still persists today, as public opinion has shifted against prisoner swaps involving many militants. Klein is accusing #Netanyahu of being willing to "eliminate" protestors and internaly displaced persons "for their own good", and calls on security chiefs to defy such orders.
