A young man with no govt experience is working for Musk’s #DOGE at #HUD & has been tasked with using #AI to rewrite the agency’s rules & regs.

Sweet’s primary role appears to be leading an effort to🚨leverage AI to review HUD’s regs, compare them to the laws on which they're based, & identify areas where rules can be relaxed or removed altogether. *Also been given read access to HUD's data repository on public housing, & its enterprise income VER systems.

At the Dept of Housing & Urban Development [#HUD], for example, ofcls are working on a rule that would #ban mixed-status households[‼️] — in which some family members have legal status & others don’t—from public #housing, acc/to multiple staffers…. Affiliates from #DOGE are also looking to kick out existing mixed-status households, vowing to ensure that undocumented immigrants do not benefit from public programs, even if they live w/ #citizens or other eligible family members.

DOGE may use HUD data to shrink housing discrimination enforcement -concern that EDOGE is there to shutter programs that the admin disagrees with.

Access to the system, called HEMS, is typically strictly limited bc it contains medical records, FIN files, docs that may list SS#s & other private info. &. DOGE sought access, & #HUD granted it last week.

"On February 10, employees at the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) received an email asking them to list every contract at the bureau and note whether or not it was “critical” to the agency, as well as whether it contained any DEI components. This email was signed by Scott Langmack, who identified himself as a senior adviser to the so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Langmack, according to his LinkedIn, already has another job: He’s the chief operating officer of Kukun, a property technology company that is, according to its website, “on a long-term mission to aggregate the hardest to find data.”

As is the case with other DOGE operatives—Tom Krause, for example, is performing the duties of the fiscal assistant secretary at the Treasury while holding down a day job as a software CEO at a company with millions in contracts with the Treasury—this could potentially create a conflict of interest, especially given a specific aspect of his role: According to sources and government documents reviewed by WIRED, Langmack has application-level access to some of the most critical and sensitive systems inside HUD, one of which contains records mapping billions of dollars in expenditures."
