We have delivered a new bougainvillea for our son's patio, and DH installed a drip watering system so it can get watered on busy days.

So long as you confine them to a pot, bougainvillea can be a wonderful flower for late summer when other things are struggling.

Nothing like an early morning in the gardening - a bit of pruning, tie up the dried artichokes and pick some plums - to feel better about the world, regardless of some ego-maniacal criminals trying to rule the world.

There was a cool autumnal mood this morning, despite the day then heating up to 36C.

I have been watching these beefsteak tomatoes sit green on the vine since December so I am very excited to announce to the world that one is starting to ripen

Big tomato harvest.

Looks like this is growing up to be a cantaloupe, not honeydew. It’s called rock melon here. #GardeningAustralia

A good harvest today.

The first corn and beefsteak tomatoes, zucchini and patty pan squash, and the last of the snow peas.

Garden update

I'm harvesting dried borlotti beans, snow peas, green beans, and zucchini.

I also got my first ripe tomatoes today, from the yellow pear.

The san Marzano tomatoes are all setting fruit :)

And the corn is growing cobs and going to seed now too.

And finally, the chilli and capsicum plants are putting on a little height.

The butternut pumpkin has done ok, with three big ones on the way. But the Queensland Blue, after taking over the garden for months, has ended up with only one set pumpkin from 4 vines. I was fooled by the size of the fruits and thought they'd set, but they're yellowing now and I think they weren't actually pollinated.

Caught up on some gardening. Mowed the grass, filled the green waste bin up a bit. And picked some fruit. Nearing the end of the raspberries, but they’re still good. #Australia #GardeningAustralia #fruit

The weather seems to have been good for the garden lately. Looks like a good amount of midyim berries on the way, and the Warrigal greens are looking very perky and bright.
