There is something weirdly hypnotic watching the stock market (and therefore my pension) crash in real time, whilst waiting for a blood test at the hospital that is at least 3 months late

Infusion for #MultipleSclerosis is officially done! And this time I got smart and took a couple days off so I don’t wind up in urgent care again. Woohoo!!! No more treatments for six months. Just an MRI and neuro appointment between treatments. #rituximab #FuckMS #rituxan
Waiting to start my infusion still. Took the premeds, checked in, paid my copay… now I’m just sitting. Sent my partner away. No need for both of us to be bored in a waiting room. #fuckMS #MultipleSclerosis

Today I get to talk to my neurologist about my MRI results, get whatever labs they assign and assess my current treatment. With two new lesions showing in my #MRI I have no idea what to expect.

This month marks nine years from the bout of optic neuritis that led to diagnosis. There is no cure for MS and every day of living with it is different. I’m lucky in that I currently go long periods of time without relapses. Not everyone is so lucky. And there’s no guarantee that my luck will hold.

MS is a neurological condition where your own immune system attacks the myelin sheaths that protect your nerves. It can manifest for folks in any number of ways. For me, it has presented itself as optic neuritis, vertigo that lasts for weeks on end, intense numbness and tingling and pain from my rib cage down and more. #MSAwareness #FuckMS 1/4
