This frog was too photogenic not to draw. Used a mix of Pentel Graphgear 1000 pencils and the Orenz Nero for the tiny bug. Took some time this morning to finish the texture and light work–feels good to wrap it up! #sciart #frog #artist

#throwback to when I made a unique frog plushie! (July 2024)

Frogs are some of my most requested animals, and as much as I would love to make them into a pocket pal, I do find them surprisingly tricky to design. They’re easy enough to simplify into looking super silly in a drawing, but keeping the concept interesting as a 3D object is a whole other deal.

I brought the macro kit in with me today and then had to lean precariously out over the railing to get this shot. (I do wish they'd perch in a more accessible spot).
