#Fediverse #Feditip #Feditipps #Hilfe

I have a question for experts on @Mastodon: On #Sharkey I can format a text very simply as quote and Mastodon recognizes that and also applies a special formatting. It looks especially good in the offical app.
But, what I don't (yet?) know is, how to get this formatting (as a quote) in Mastodon itself. Is that even possible? Does anybody know?

@FediTips

I have a technical question related to this thread
mastodon.social/@chrisstoecker

User @energisch_ replies to posts by @divVerent but I cannot see latter posts (only if I sign in as a different user). But I can open divVerent's profile, I could follow him/her so it seems he/she did not block me.

But why is it that? Am I muted? And can I somewhere see my status in regard to other users? Kindly help me anyone to understand this, thank you.

Now that the #Fediverse grows and grows, I'm more and more convinced, that the best way to access it, doesn't yet exist. There is no way of really experiencing the diversity right now.

But what would such an #FediverseApp need?

- different tabs for different media types (microblog, longform etc.)
- show content more like how it looks, where it's from (#Pixelfed, #Lemmy etc.)
- when posting content support all the features of the platform, you're posting on

What else?

① Use :android: github.com/tateisu/SubwayToote
② Read popular toots on @trendytoots, @trending and on that explore page of your instance
③ Dig global Trends on fedi.buzz Follow Hashtags + Instances on relay.fedi.buzz
E.g. large topic-specific instances (for serendipity)
④ Put slow followees (for quality) in a separate list. #fomo
⑤ search opt-inned accs across instances: tootfinder.ch
⑥ Post pics (alt-text!); follow many; use #HashTags; mention groups (a.gup.pe or lemmy.world/communities) and users.
⑦ Attach audio to your toots. Add ".rss" to your acc's or tag's url to host a podcast.
⑧ Instead of repeating links, search for them (without https://) and boost earlier posts.
⑨ ★ are just public bookmarks. (Yes, everypody can see who starred a post.) Boost or give reply instead. Boost ur own toots if they got/deserve a lot of ★.
㉈ Refer to toots via url or public reply
