My step grandsons going all out during our backyard Easter egg hunting in April 2020. This picture always cracks me up.. little Z broke a speed record that day.

We used to colour eggs with crayons on the Saturday, and admire our handiwork until the boil up on #EasterSunday morning.
It was never very effective, but a little colour would remain still after boiling. I guess the colour didn't remain so well as the wax melted away.
Never got to try the dramatic Ukrainian egg techniques, but it was very dazzling to see as a kid and it fueled our crafty fantasies.
We watched Dune again last night and right on cue, an Egg Fremmen has appeared from the desert*
