EU think-tank looks to ETFs to boost European defence companies.

There has been a surge in interest in weapons makers, but current ETFs offer only global exposure.

Kjeld van Wieringen, policy analyst at the policy foresight unit of the European Parliamentary Research Service, said he held talks with VanEck, the issuer of the $2.8bn VanEck Defense Ucits ETF, Europe’s largest such vehicle, “a few weeks ago”.

We are at a point on which we might see the US confiscating stocks or assets from European holders.

Especially if you are vulnerable, please be sure that your stocks are not overvaluing the USA and that your assets are not under the jurisdiction of Trump or it's boot licker.

Here are my personal rules for my investments.

Be Shure to:

1. Avoid ETFs and funds that are heavily invested in U.S. stocks, such as World or All World (73% USA) without "excluding US"

2. Use European ETF providers, brokers, stocks and banks instead of U.S.-based ones to keep your assets under EU jurisdiction and lower US confiscation risk.

3. Hold cash reserves in euros, Swiss francs, or gold instead of US dollars to avoid potential currency restrictions and the massive devaluation if the US dollar loses its world trade currency status.

4. Choose physically replicating, low-cost ETFs from good European providers, since they hold the actual underlying assets and minimize counterparty risks. [1]

The 2024 stock market rally has some everyday investors looking to ratchet up the risk.

"Jeremy Vreeland, a 46-year-old individual investor in central Virginia, quit his job as a mechanic in 2021 to trade stocks and options. He pays his bills with income earned from selling options, and uses a smaller portion of what he calls his “risk capital” to day trade."
