🚨🚨🚨 As part of the Congressional budget coming up for a vote in the House and Senate is a provision to limit the enforcement power of the Judiciary branch against the Executive. Essentially it restricts the ability of the #SCOTUS and federal judges to file contempt of court charges against the Executive branch. This is a call to action moment - so call your members of Congress and raise the alarm 202.224.3121!

Just Security · A Terrible IdeaDean Chemerinsky discusses the reconciliation bill’s provision that would restrict federal courts’ authority to hold government officials in contempt for violating court orders

Just catching up on a few of my goto's. #BrianTylerCohen interview of #JamieRaskin, especially at the 13:00 min mark, on the lack of urgency from the #DemocraticParty over the CR vote saying they've been "slow to figure out how to deal with this fascist assault". Then Raskin calls out Jeffries & Schumer who live in the same neighborhood in NY, asking "where's the plan"?

Maybe calls from constituents is working!

Australia (soon the last bastion of social democracy) is in a very good position to warch and learn from the ongoing political debacles around the globe. Watch and learn Australia. And be warned…

“Let Australia consider itself warned, that with the eventual arrival of republican government, a decision to elect the president by popular mandate would absolutely be the wrong outcome.

The V-Dem Institute’s report for 2024 shows that the shift to autocracy continues to be a dominant trend across the 200 countries covered by their researchers. The level of democracy enjoyed in 2023 has fallen to 1985-levels as an increasing number of autocratising countries impose limits on freedom of expression, manipulate elections and restrict the freedom of association.”
