Today I went to see the rarest snails in the world. These critically endangered mollusks exist only in a little pond in Banff. Since it's a sulphur hot spring, the whole area smells of snail farts.

Stronger nature laws to END SHARK CULLS
Did you know that #SharkCulling programs in #NSW and #Queensland have never been assessed under our national environment laws ?
That’s despite the fact that #nets and lethal drumlines in NSW and QLD have caught 174 #CriticallyEndangered grey nurse #sharks in the past decade, killing 70. Over the same time, a massive 538 threatened marine #turtles were also caught across both states, with at least 183 killed.

TELL THE QUEENSLAND GOVERNMENT TO SAVE SAWFISH WITH GILLNET FREE ZONES IN THE GULF OF CARPENTARIA
The Gulf is part of the last global stronghold for four of the world's five #sawfishes and is the only known home in #Queensland for #SpeartoothSharks. These species include those that are #CriticallyEndangered and require urgent action for their #conservation.
The creation of #NFZ s are crucial to the survival of these threatened #sharks and #rays, as well as other iconic threatened species

Free from #dams or other #artificial #barriers , it is rich in #aquatic #species and #supports #myriad #wildlife , including #otters , the #endangered #Egyptian #vulture and the #CriticallyEndangered #Balkan #lynx, of which only 15 are estimated to remain in Albania.
