The #CentralParkFive *alleged* [we all saw it] in a federal #defamation lawsuit filed in Pennsylvania that #Trump falsely claimed during his debate against VP #KamalaHarris that the men pleaded guilty after being charged in the case as teenagers & that they had killed someone. The defendants in fact were cleared of wrongdoing. And the victim of the infamous attack suffered life-threatening injuries but survived.

Over the course of #debate, #Trump defended the #violent [#Jan6] mob…. He insisted that the #2020election had been stolen from him. He relitigated his slander of the #CentralParkFive. He defended his decision to invite the #Taliban to Camp David & invoked Hungary’s #authoritarian leader, Viktor #Orbán, as a character witness. He couldn’t bring himself to say that he hopes #Ukraine will win its war against #Russia, even when pressed.

#KamalaHarris spoke about #Trump’s history on #race, including him taking out an ad calling for the execution of the #CentralParkFive in #NewYork decades ago & spreading birther #lies about fmr POTUS Barack #Obama. She is arguing that he uses race to divide instead of talking about his false comments that she “turned Black” — that was the original question.
