There's no way that I know of to import a catalogue to another software package AND keep all of the adjustments. It's easy to import a Lr catalogue into C1 for example and that will include basic adjustments but not everything.

One thing you can do is to tell the software to store the metadata with the files, but that slows things down when opening the software. If you do that be very careful not to open the image in more than one program or the second program will overwrite the edits made by the first.

If you have a perpetual license (C1 for example) you have that license until your operating system no longer supports the software but that will be a long way out.

Exporting processed images as full-frame .tif files is certainly an option and you will have a file with all of your edits but you won't be able to edit the edits so to speak w/o returning to the original raw file.

@klizana Are you using C1 catalogue or sessions? I'm using catalogue, and I'm a little concerned about my exit strategy, should I need it. From Aperture I found ApertureExporter, which looped through its library calling Aperture to apply my adjustments, and exported those. Nothing like that for C1 that I'm aware of.

Maybe each year I should export last year's 2*+ images fullsize with adjustments and original, to a removable drive? #photography #CaptureOnePro

@eclecticpassions I kept Lr 6.14 when it went CC only and dumped that version when it didn't well support my a7RIII files.

If I hadn't I definitely would have the day Adobe decided thay had a right to use all of my work w/o permission.

Been using #CaptureOnePro with a perpetual license since then. A lot of changes in the past 20 or so iterations but the latest masking features are great. And Affinity Photo/Designer/Publisher make a great package, although I prefer CorelDraw to Designer.

Just found out #adobe is increasing their prices on Jan 15 2025. I could technically lock in the photography 20gb price if I switch to annual, but maybe it's time to say goodbye to #LightroomClassic. If I were to go the free route I'd choose #AdobeBridge for DAM + #darktable for raws. For a perpetual licence option—#CaptureOnePro or #dxophotolab8, but since I already have #pureraw4, I'm leaning towards C1.
