Making my second #bullethell using #godot , day 8 and still prototyping.
Cleaning up the code source, made a pause panel, added the score funtionality, enemies are dying, yey yey, I'm on fire!
Wait. It was supposed to be the week-end.
Day 7 : still working on the prototype. The level design is working fine, the language select screen as well. Next steps, design some new enemies and that will include some paper work.
Today's Potatostrike progress report:
1) Ran a series of playtests on mission progression and unlocking the new Potatoes.
2) Managed to catch a crash when unlocking a new mission, as well as the Digistrike having 1 HP when spawned in, for some reason.
Day 5 of making a second #bullethell using #godot - Wow, the workflow is smoother than it was on Unity :D
Made new stuff, improved stuff, collisions are working, invincibility time when it works as well. Stay tuned! #indiedev #solodev

1) Working on the last set of changes for the next Potatostrike update. This includes localization and updating the Credits menu.
2) I finally figured out where to add a Language toggle button to the main menu!
I really wish more people would try out #shmup / #bullethell games
A misconception non-players have is they're about shooting; the shooting is mostly automatic. They are dodging games; Undertale is heavily inspired by shmups.
A trick is most bullets on screen have 0% chance of hitting you unless you crash straight into them. You learn pretty quick and it's very satisfying
All modern (as of 360 or earlier really) STG/Shmup/etc games have many difficulty modes, accessibility options

1) Finished setting up the power-up system for the final Potato. There's a total of 6 different power-ups.
2) Each 10 Combo, a power-up will spawn and bounce around the screen. Touch the power-up to use them.

1) Working on the final Potato being added to Potatostrike. This one is going to be a bit more complicated than the rest.
2) Several unique power-ups are being made for the new Potato, like this giant boxing glove!

1) Ordnance now receives increased damage at levels 4 and 5 to help them in the late game.
2) Work will be put on halt until next week due to holidays. In the meantime, have this short video of the Commandostrike!

1) Fixed various minor bugs that were found while creating new Potatoes.
2) On that note, a new Potato has been completed! This is the Commandostrike. He summons reinforcements periodically that aid him in battle.

1) Updated the Reward Acquisition system so players can unlock multiple things in a single run.
2) Most of the new Potatoes being added can be unlocked by getting a high enough score at the end of a mission.

1) Adjusting the balancing of the new Potatoes and running some playtests. So far everything seems to be working well.
