It's a good idea – some #3Dprinting filament is sold without a reel now occasionally. Makes sense as there's a fair bit of waste material when you're done the spool.

You can get a plastic reusable reel from say #BambuLabs for $15, but hey 3D printing, right?

Sure enough there are lots of designs to download, so I needn't design one, but those I picked wouldn't fit on my #A1mini printing bed.

Hence I modified a design with a nice bayonet mount mechanism to fit an 18cm bed.

Going to hang up some xmas lights, and want a little nailing clip. A brief look at #Printables didn't come up with something quite like I envisaged, so have designed something fast in #Blender (20min) and am trying to print a first attempt on the new #Bambu #A1Mini I just got this past week.

Haven't got a functional #Cura profile yet, but managed to employ the #BambuStudio app without any of the cloud junk enabled, so seeing how that goes. [I'm fine with SDcard sneaker-net]

Took a few minutes to get the #A1Mini #bambu 3Dprinter out of the box, and doing it's initial calibrations.

Gotta say, it's a pretty impressive out-of-the-box experience, and the promise of low-noise printing means it'll be able to live almost anywhere.

Pretty fun so far. It's been a few years since my last #3Dprinter purchase, great to experience the advances with my third unit.

Joined the #Bambu 3Dprinter club for my third printer. #A1Mini arrived this week, but it's still in the box until I can get to it.

I figure once I open it I'm gone for a few hours at least, so don't want to mess up any of my more time-critical activities underway just now.

Any first-things-first suggestions from other A1 / A1mini users out there?

The #A1mini is "just" a tool, unlike all the other #3Dprinter in my collection, going back to 2012. All printers before were projects (but also more open). Every printer a diva in its own way. But the #BambuLab JustPrints(tm), so I can focus on other things. That's truly a big change, allowing me to do things like this. Design, print, iterate. That's the way it should be, IMHO. I never thought a 3D printer could be boring and that that would be a good thing :)

While the new 0.2mm nozzle does print much better details with fine layering compared to the 0.4, it really does not like printing support structures 😬 i just have to get better at setting up models so they need little or no supports. #bambulab #a1mini
