Hey all, as a way of I'm Dan Mielcarz, I've been online chatting about music since 1994 starting on Usenet in rec.music.phish. I was "mielcarz" on Twitter, boringly enough.

I wanted to share the steps I went through in case the details are helpful to anyone, especially others migrating off that instance–especially a warning about when you lose access to your old account. I don’t know if these are the best steps to follow, but they worked for me.

@mielcarz Hi Dan! I was on rec.music.phish in 1994, too! Also in a couple of the IRC servers, too, as 'bobobo' ... So many good memories of trading tapes and finding new friends on those places. Cheers!
